Anytime I am heading east over the Pali I try to make a stop at teh Pali lookout. I love taking in everything, mainly the fresh air and cooler atmosphere. The view never seems to end. The vibrant colors and large clouds are easy on the eyes.
As always caution is advised. When I have time I enjoy hiking down the old highway and even climbing up to the waterfall.

HOUSE OF THE SUN
OF THE PACIFIC
Well, October is here and at the end of the month one of the biggest non-holiday events in the western world occurs.
HALLOWEEN
The thing I like about Halloween is that it comes with no stress. No big build-up of anticipation and subsequent let-down in disappointment.
Halloween is just Halloween and every year is as different and as fun as the years before.
The two best places, as an adult, to celebrate Halloween are Key West, Florida and Lahaina, Hawai’i..
Last year I picked up a couple from one of the hotels in Ka’anapali and took them to Front St., where all the activity is. He was dressed like an “Alley Oop” cave man. She had on a white bustier, white garter belt, white nylons, white heels, white frilly panties and a white bridal veil. The sexy, virginal bride. The entire ride to Front St. she worried aloud about how skimpy her costume was.
Almost 10 minutes of “I am so embarrassed .”
As I made the drop near Front St. the taxi-van in front of us disgourged 5 beautiful young ladies wearing only thong bikini bottoms and leis. That was their entire costume. My lady passenger saw them and in the same breathe went from “I am so embarrassed ” to “I may be overdressed.”

ONE PER PERSON
Ma’alaea Devastation
With all the death and destruction I have written about this week and the focus the media has placed on tomorrow’s anniversary, I just want to remind everyone that there is so much excitement in life to be enjoyed. When you are “down”, step back a moment and look at the world through the eyes of a child. Wonderful, wild and thrilling. With a new adventure around every corner.
GO BEACH
Beaches are places of fun and relaxation. You never know what you’ll see.
On an earlier video, I showed you the low road into Wailea. Well, here is the high road approach.
The video starts at the intersection of Keonekai street and the Pi’ilani Highway (SR-31) and ends at the intersection of Wailea Iki and Wailea Alanui drive. Taken during the predawn hours at the end of my shift. If you listen closely, you’ll even hear my voice.
This is the last of my video collection. I hope you have enjoyed my very amateur efforts.
Aloha!
There are a lot of pictures to capture in the night around Honolulu. One of my favorite recent night shots is that of this sign marking the landmark eatery “Like Like Drive-Inn.” They sell a lot of saimin here as well as a wide variety of other coffee house style meals. My favorite is fried rice and hamburger patty….
The restaurant is located on the corner of Keaumoku & Kanunu Street across from the WalMart store in Honolulu. For those living outside Hawaii, you pronounce “Like Like” like this: “Leaky Leaky”.
